Folding promotional cards

Folding or promotional cards are an ideal way of promoting your business using multi images and text. We print onto high quality environmentally friendly 380gsm card. We can print most formats to your specifications and the number of pages you may require. If you supply the promotional card as a digital file ready to print you can have any number of images and text on your promotional card. A proof of your layout and text is supplied prior to your card being printed.

I have some guide prices for promotional cards. Promotional cards can have either one score (4 pages) or two scores (6 pages) If we scan your images this includes one colour image and text on each outer page and one black and white image plus text on each inner page. Of course, if you supply your own digital file ready to print you can include as many colour images as you wish.

Some digital guidelines

How do you know the image you are sending us is going to reproduce as you imagine. How do you get the best quality out of the images you send. We will still always recommend scanning your flexible artwork whenever possible as the results we get from our in house scanning is still the best way to ensure the highest quality. However this is not always possible nor practical - so how do you get the best images out from your digital scans or photographs. First set your camera or scanner to the highest quality setting. We want your device to capture the most information possible - to give us the biggest file size possible. On your digital camera this means you will not be able to capture nearly as many pictures on your card but for printing we really do need these bigger file sizes to print the best quality. Always aim to get 300dpi at the size you want your image to be printed. We prefer either tiff files or jpg files. You can then send us your jpeg file via email or upload your tiff file to our FTP site as it will be too large to send via email.

Alternatively we are happy to receive images and files on Zip, CD, or DVD.

The next step to ensuring you get the printed result you expect is to have a colour proof prior to printing. It is always a good idea to have a colour proof of a digitally supplied image as all print machines print slightly differently and colour will vary. We have a special offer running at the moment and for the month of March, your colour and text proofs are free!

Promote yourself with a wall calendar.

The outstanding print quality of our calendars would be perfect to represent your artwork or photographs. An individual calendar is a fantastic way to market your business all year round. As each month comes around a new image is revealed. We offer an array of different choices. For a calendar printed in full colour on high quality 150 gsm matt or gloss paper, wiro bound at the top with a thumb slot and hanger, the prices are as follows:

A5 size - 13 pages - 1 per month plus a cover, 500 copies will cost - £984 +vat
A4 size - 7 pages - 2 months per page plus cover, 500 copies will cost - £1168 +vat

These prices have been based on your images and layout being supplied as digital files ready for output and we will include a full colour proof in the price.

We are happy to scan from your originals or transparencies and typeset the calendar for you to your own layout. We can offer any size or shape. Just let us have an idea of what you want to produce and we will send you an individual estimate.

ON LINE DESIGNER

As you may remember at the beginning of the year I wrote a story about our on-line designer ordering service. We are working on an addition to our website giving you the ability to design and upload your images onto a postcard, enabling you to lay out the text side as you want with the fonts and sizes exactly as you would like. This has been a difficult task for our design team, but we have been working very hard on the on-line design programme and are hoping to have it up and running in the not too distant future.

This will be a great asset to our website and will offer both new and our existing customers an opportunity to upload their images and place them onto a postcard as they wish. They will be able to do all the text placement through our on line design programme or on their own computer using the programmes they are already familiar with and just up load the finished postcard, business card or greetings card. We won’t be compromising any of our services that we already offer. This is purely an additional service we are making available.

This is an exciting project and although it is proving a challenge we are looking forward to having the facility available on our website and being able to offer even an better service.

Spring is just around the corner!

We have nearly done it, the daffies are out, the flowers are starting to bloom - spring is just around the corner. We have survived another winter. The mornings and evenings are light and the clocks change soon - we have just about done it. My potatoes are chitting and veggies seeds are all in seed trays. The fields around us are rife with lambs skipping and playing. Spring is in the air! The weather is getting milder, the urge to stick your toes outside for a little longer everyday is there. Will we be lucky enough for some sunshine this summer?

We can control the colour completely this way and obtain fantastic results. Alternatively you can supply your artwork on disk which then brings your set-up cost down to £40.00 + vat. The set-up includes placing your image, colour correction, an A4 colour proof and archiving your approved image. You then order prints on a ‘print by demand’ service, you can have as few or as many prints as you require at a time. We are able to offer a fast turn around time on print run orders, so there is no need to outlay for prints that you have not sold yet. As you sell your prints we can print them for you.
